Uninstalling
FatalGuard cleans up after itself. Removing it takes the usual two steps.
Deactivate and delete
- Go to Plugins.
- Deactivate FatalGuard.
- Click Delete.
On delete, FatalGuard removes what it created:
- its settings and options,
- the error-history database table (Pro),
- scheduled jobs (like the weekly digest),
- the must-use monitoring drop-in it installed on activation.
Your site’s own debug.log and PHP error_log files are left untouched — those
belong to WordPress and your host, not to FatalGuard.
Keeping your data
If you plan to reinstall and want to keep your error history, export or note anything you need first — deleting the plugin drops the history table. Simply deactivating (without deleting) leaves everything in place.
Stealth mode note
If you had stealth mode on, make sure you’re logged in as an allowlisted administrator so you can see the plugin in order to remove it.
